This private bush camp has a stunning setting under the Weeping Borebean, Tamboti and Marula trees on the Shayamoya Reserve. Sunny in Winter and shady in Summer.
A small watering trough encourages the animals to drink close by including the herd of Cape Buffalo and giraffe, who cruise by inquisitively. There is an electric fence for guest’s protection.
The 5 Gemsbok tents are simply furnished each with 2 beds and a side table. They are made up with linen and duvets. The camp is serviced daily.
Self catering facilities include a big braai pit, grid area and tripod to hang pots and kettle over the fire; kitchen fully stocked with utensils and a 2 plate gas cooker and fridge. Wood is supplied for the duration of your stay. Should you require an additional load of wood, please contact reception, R200 per load.The camp is solar and gas energised so you can have a hot shower (in the evenings, weather plays a role!) and the beers stay cold! An electric point is available at the nearby slaughter facility for those campers with electric gadgets. Lighting is provided in the form of solar Consol jars and citronella lamps and the moon of course!
Treat yourself to a meal at the Shayamoya Restaurant where a light lunch menu is on offer and delicious dinners. Relaxing massage and nail therapy is available at Shayamoya or for more treatments, the neighbouring SPA offers a variety of pamperings. Book direct.
Activities include: game drives, boat cruises, archery and guided rhino walks. The reserve also caters for bow hunting. Please enquire with reception to make your booking.The Shayamoya Lodge guests have preference. It is not possible to pre-book activities (Subject to availability).
Only high axle vehicles can access the camp. A 4×4 vehicle is not necessary.
