Our 3 Deluxe suites have a view of our rolling lawns and trout dam. Each room has a king-size bed, dressing-room area, bathroom with bath and shower, under floor heating in both bathroom and bedroom, air-conditioning, private balconies, tea and coffee-making facilities and mini bar area. All rooms have a TV and DVD player.
The Deluxe rooms are our middle tier of rooms. What sets them apart from the luxury rooms is that they all have private patios with views of the dam. They are built from what used to be the homestead’s stables and sheds for the original Aberdeen Angus stud herd. Like all our rooms they are individually themed and decorated.

Max: The new Fordoun Farm Village is built with the purpose of tapping into the Agri Tourism, leisure and wedding market, and at the same time growing our conferencing market. With panoramic views of the Drakensberg Mountains, in a tranquil country setting, the feeling of relaxation and romance is almost tangible. 8 luxurious self-catering chalets provide ample accommodation for 32 guests. The new Multi Functional Venue is a state of the art facility, combining a breathtaking wow affect while at the same time offering practicality and convenience to the guest.
Although the Farm Village is separate to the original Hotel, Restaurant and Spa, there is a lot of synergy between the two establishments. Adults staying at the Farm Village will have access to the facilities up at the Hotel and this will work both ways. The Farm Village will be family orientated with activities for children being a continuous focus for us!
Please note the self-catering chalets are not graded as per the hotel.

Fordoun Hotel, located in Nottingham Road in the KwaZulu-Natal Midlands, comprises twenty-two luxurious, individually appointed suites with 3 categories of accommodation.
Despite its 5-star luxurious atmosphere and emphasis on quality, Fordoun’s rates are surprisingly competitive in relation to similar hydros elsewhere.
Most of our Luxury rooms were converted from the original farmstead’s sheds that date back to the 19th Century.
Our luxury suites have a king-size bed, bathroom with bath and shower, under floor heating in the bathroom and bedrooms, tea and coffee-making facilities and mini bar area. All rooms have a TV and DVD player.
There is also a double suite with wheelchair access and specially adapted bathroom.
All rooms have an en suite bath and shower as well as separate vanity/changing areas. We also ensure that room temperatures are comfortable with under floor heating, and/or air-conditioning. Telephones, DSTV channels and DVD players are standard equipment. We have designed our rooms to offer practicality as well as being aesthetically pleasing.

Our Superior Mountain View Suites are individual units with majestic views of the Drakensberg. Each unit has a king-size bed, separate lounge area, TV and DVD, gas fireplace, dressing-room area, under floor heated bathroom with bath as well as indoor and outdoor showers, private balconies with loungers, air conditioning, tea and coffee-making facilities, a mini bar area, as well as wireless internet.
Our Superior Suites overlook lush pastures and rolling hills towards the entire panoramic Drakensberg range. Sunsets over the mountains are spectacular.
Our main design criteria when building the Superior Suites was to make the rooms spacious enough to accommodate a bedroom/lounge area. Flat screen TVs sit in their own wall-mounted mirror cupboards for neatness and space. Each room has a gas fireplace for added ambiance and to complement the air-conditioning which is for both heating and cooling. Water is heated by Heat Pumps to save on energy. There is under floor heating in the bathrooms and dressing rooms. There is also an IT corner with desk and connections in each of the dressing rooms.
Bathrooms have double basins, bath and shower, plus a novel outdoor shower where one can enjoy the mountain views (but ablute in complete privacy). Like all of the Fordoun suites, each of the new rooms has been thoughtfully decorated by Micheline Bates.
